Amendments to the Plant Protection Regulations

On December 3, 2025, the Plant Protection Regulations (PPR) were updated to enhance Canada’s ability to manage plant pest risks, by: 

  • Consolidating movement prohibitions and restrictions into a single, easy-to-access document on the CFIA website, replacing Schedules I and II of the PPR; and
  • Improving digital document handling by updating how documents are submitted and shared with the CFIA to make it easier to share documents electronically.

Modifications au Règlement sur la protection des végétaux

 

Le 3 décembre 2025, le Règlement sur la protection des végétaux (RPV) a été mis à jour afin de renforcer la capacité du Canada à gérer les risques liés aux organismes nuisibles aux végétaux, notamment par :

  • La consolidation d’interdictions et restrictions dans un document unique, facile d’accès sur le site Web de l’ACIA, remplaçant les annexes I et II du RPV;
  • L’amélioration de la gestion numérique des documents, grâce à la mise à jour des modalités de soumission et de partage avec l’ACIA, facilitant ainsi l’échange électronique de documents.
