Animal Feed – Policy and Procedures Updates

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has published a new guidance document:

This guidance supports stakeholders involved in manufacturing livestock feed for newly added species effective December 2025. It highlights key requirements for operations involving feeds for any listed livestock species, including commercial feed mills, retailers, importers/exporters, and certain on farm feed mills.

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) a publié un nouveau document d’orientation :

Ces lignes directrices appuient les parties réglementées participant à la fabrication d’aliments pour animaux de ferme pour les espèces nouvellement ajoutées, qui sont entrées en vigueur en décembre 2025. Elles mettent en évidence les principales exigences applicables aux activités liées aux aliments pour toute espèce d’animaux de ferme visée, y compris les fabriques d’aliments commerciales, les détaillants, les importateurs et exportateurs, ainsi que certaines fabriques d’aliments à la ferme.
