Canada imposes additional sanctions against individuals linked to crisis in Haiti and against Venezuelan officials

Canada has imposed additional sanctions against individuals linked to crisis in Haiti, with the most recent sanctions targeting three individuals:

  • Dimitri Hérard,
  • Jeantel Joseph and
  • Jeff Larose

Canadians both at home and abroad will be prohibited from engaging in transactions with these individuals, this is in addition to other sanctions under the Special Economic Measures (Haiti) Regulations.

Canada imposes new sanctions against Venezuelan officials, listing the following 8 individuals under the Special Economic Measures (Haiti) Regulations.:

  • Douglas Arnoldo Rico González
  • Carlos Enrique Terán Hurtado
  • Carlos Alberto Calderon Chirinos
  • Florencio Ramón Escalona
  • Leonel Alberto García Rivas
  • Ronny Fernando González Montesinos
  • Manuel Enrique Castillo Rengifo
  • Jose Ramon Figuera Valdez

Persons in Canada and Canadians outside the country are prohibited from dealing in the property of the listed individuals, among other sanctions.
