Canada – Qatar Joint Statement

On October 15, 2025, Canadian Minister Evan Solomon and Qatari Minister Mohammed Al Mannai met in Doha to advance bilateral cooperation between Canada and Qatar, particularly in communications and information technology. Celebrating over 50 years of diplomatic relations, the ministers reaffirmed their countries' strong ties and mutual commitment to shared technological goals. They welcomed recent high-level exchanges and expressed enthusiasm for deeper collaboration in emerging tech sectors aligned with each nation's strategic priorities.

The productive discussions highlighted the following potential areas of cooperation:

  • High-Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Investment Opportunities
  • Business engagements, innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Government Policy Development
  • Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
  • Capacity Building and Knowledge Exchange

Both parties expressed their commitment to maintaining ongoing dialogue and collaboration in order to finalize a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
