CARM Bulletin 5422 - Use of Mass Adjustment Case Numbers

https://ccp-pcc.cbsa-asfc.cloud-nuage.canada.ca/en/public-bulletins

Trade Chain Partners (TCPs) are not permitted to re-use mass adjustment case numbers on subsequent adjustments (i.e. new CAD versions). They must ensure that when submitting subsequent adjustments (single or mass), previous case numbers in the “CBSA Case No.” field are removed from all lines.

TCPs are also not permitted to generate multiple mass adjustment case numbers and include these on different lines of the same adjustment/CAD version. Only one mass adjustment case number per adjustment/CAD version is permitted.

The CBSA recommends that service providers program their EDI/API systems to identify and prevent these types of errors from occurring.

Failure to follow this guidance will result in adjustment requests being stuck and rejected by the CBSA. Legislative time limits will not be protected when this occurs.
