CBSA investigation leads to 12-months imprisonment for Ontario resident convicted of firearm-related charges

Following a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) firearm smuggling investigation that began in February of 2024, a resident of Scarborough, ON, has pled guilty to the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • One count of Possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order;
  • Two counts of Possession of prohibited devices contrary to a prohibition order;
  • One count of Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized.

He has been sentenced in the Ontario Court of Justice to 12-months imprisonment, 24-months probation, and issued a lifetime firearms ban.
