CBSA Message (TCC18-065): Streamlining the TCCU’s bulletins for scheduled maintenance outages

Clients Affected: All clients and service providers who transmit trade data using EDI and/or the eManifest portal.

This week, when the Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) issues its reminder bulletin about the scheduled maintenance activities for the coming weekend, clients will notice a change in its format.

The new bulletin format will contain all of the information that would have been found in the multiple bulletins that the TCCU issued previously, separated by headings to clearly identify the client group that will be impacted.

A single bulletin containing all outage details will be sent to all clients, on all distribution lists.

Our previous methodology of sending different bulletins to different distribution lists resulted in some clients receiving several outage bulletins, if they were subscribed to multiple lists due to their different lines of business. For the CBSA, this methodology entailed added complexity and redundancy to the bulletin issuance process.

We hope that this new format will simplify the communication process of CBSA scheduled maintenance outages.  We welcome any feedback or comments on the new formatting at our email address at: [email protected].
