CBSA Message (TCC19-080) - Civic Holiday

Clients Affected: All clients and service providers who transmit trade data using EDI.

The Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) office will be closed on Monday, August 05th, 2019, however, the TCCU production support will be operating on an “after hours” schedule during this time.

The exchange rates from Saturday, August 3, 2019 through Tuesday, August 6, 2019 (inclusive) will remain unchanged.

For the purposes of calculating the accounting period, August 05, 2019 will be considered a holiday for all provinces/territories except Quebec and Yukon and any late accounting penalties will be waived without the client having to submit an application. This applies to transactions released from July 27, 2019 to August 05, 2019, and where the client’s office of central accounting is in the affected provinces. Any other clients who may have received late accounting penalties due to the holiday should apply for a waiver to the Recourse Directorate at fax # 343-291-7239.

Should you have any questions concerning late accounting penalties, please contact Amit Jaitly at 343-291-7185.

For urgent client service outside business hours and statutory holidays, please contact the TCCU hotline at 1-888-957-7224 and your enquiry will be answered by a TCCU officer. Also, please refer to the following CBSA website link that offers guidelines for clients using the TCCU’s after-hours/weekend/holiday pager service: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/eservices/services-eng.html.
