CBSA officers in Metro Vancouver seize over 200 kg of opium

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced the seizure of 209 kilograms of opium detected in an inbound shipping container at the Burnaby Container Examination Facility.

On March 26, 2025, CBSA border officers, aided by the Detector Dog Team, intercepted a container from the United Arab Emirates after it was flagged by intelligence officers at the National Targeting Centre. Upon inspection, they discovered drugs hidden inside a 11,000‑kilogram piece of commercial machinery.
