CBSA updates Customs Notice 18-27 to reflect regulatory and legislative links

The CBSA has updated Customs Notice 18-27 - Regulatory Amendments and New Regulations Related to the Implementation of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) to reflect the legislative authorities that outline an exporter’s obligations under section 3 of the Exporters' and Producers' Records Regulations (PDF, 168 KB)

The purpose of the CN 18-27 is to describe all of the regulatory changes that needed to come into effect to implement the CPTPP in 2018. This latest update adds a reference to link between the regulations and subsection 97.1(1.1) of the Customs Act, which specifies the exporter’s obligations with respect to a CPTPP certificate of origin. All of the other provisions of CN 18-27 remain the same.
