CFIA-AIRS Updates, 15 August

Chapter 03 was published to add the miscellaneous codes “Consignment requires certification”, “Consignment destined to an approved facility by the Office of Biohazard Containment and Safety” and “Consignment destined to a CFIA approved quarantine unit”  to the following HS codes with the end use “Research and educational use”.

03.01.11.7960.30 - Symphysodon discus - TSN 170028 - Discus fish (ornamental, live).
03.01.91.6159.92 - Oncorhynchus mykiss - TSN 161989 - Rainbow trout (live).
03.01.91.7871.54 - Salmo trutta - TSN 161997 - Brown trout (live).
03.01.99.1703.94 - Clupea harengus - TSN 161722 - Atlantic herring (live).
03.01.99.3131.88 - Gadus morhua - TSN 164712 - Atlantic cod (live).
03.01.99.6159.88 - Oncorhynchus kisutch - TSN 161977 - Coho salmon (live).
03.01.99.7871.46 - Salmo salar - TSN 161996 - Atlantic salmon (live).

This created a requirement version change for the following HS codes.

03.01.11.2076.24 - Cyprinus carpio koi - TSN 163344 - Koi carp (ornamental, live).
03.01.11.1314.36 - Carassius auratus - TSN 163350 - Goldfish (ornamental, live).

Chapter 05 was published to:

i) remove the release recommendation “Refer to CFIA - veterinary inspection”  and change the import conditions for the following HS codes originating from Hungary.

05.05.10.1257 - Processed feathers or down. 
05.05.90.1257 - Processed feathers or down.

This created a requirement version change for the same HS codes originating from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Uruguay.

ii) change the release recommendation from “Approved” to “Refer to CFIA - NISC” for the following HS codes with the end uses “Culture” and “Live bait” originating from the United States and United Kingdom.

05.11.91.4001.65 - Danio rerio - TSN 163699 - Zebrafish (germplasm). 
05.11.91.4002.80 - Hippoglossus hippoglossus - TSN 172933 - Atlantic halibut (germplasm). 
05.11.91.4003.32 - Lates calcarifer - TSN 167669 - Barramundi (germplasm). 
05.11.91.4005.02 - Oncorhynchus clarkii - TSN 161983 - Cutthroat trout (germplasm). 
05.11.91.4005.05 - Oncorhynchus gorbuscha - TSN 161975 - Pacific pink salmon (germplasm). 
05.11.91.4005.08 - Oncorhynchus keta - TSN 161976 - Chum salmon (germplasm). 
05.11.91.4005.11 - Oncorhynchus kisutch - TSN 161977 - Coho salmon (germplasm). 
05.11.91.4005.17 - Oncorhynchus mykiss - TSN 161989 - Rainbow trout (germplasm).
05.11.91.4005.20 - Oncorhynchus nerka - TSN 161979 - Sockeye salmon (germplasm).
