CFIA-AIRS Updates, 9 July

Chapter 08 was published to:

i) streamline the requirements for the following HS codes.

08.08.30.4003.01 - Asian pears (other than Ya pears), Sand pear, Twentieth century pears, Chinese pears, Japanese pears, Nashi pears, Oriental pears, Korean pears, Golden pears and Shingo pears (fresh). 
08.08.30.4003.02 - Ya pears, Duck pears, Yali pears  (fresh).
08.08.30.4003.12 - Fragrant pears (fresh).
08.08.30.4003.15 - Common pears (fresh). (Pyrus communis).
08.08.30.4003.99 - Other pear species (fresh).
08.08.30.4004.01 - Asian pears (other than Ya pears), Sand pear, Twentieth century pears, Chinese pears, Japanese pears, Nashi pears, Oriental pears, Korean pears, Golden pears and Shingo pears (fresh) - Organic.
08.08.30.4004.02 - Ya pears, Duck pears, Yali pears  (fresh) - Organic.
08.08.30.4004.12 - Fragrant pears (fresh) - Organic.
08.08.30.4004.15 - Common pears (fresh). (Pyrus communis) - Organic. Pyrus communis
08.08.30.4004.99 - Other pear species (fresh) - Organic.                                     

ii) change the release recommendation from “Refer to CFIA-NISC” to “Approved” for the following HS codes with the end use “Other end uses” and the miscellaneous code “Entering Canada through British Columbia”, originating from the state of California destined to all provinces except British Columbia.

08.09.10.4021.02 Aprium (hybrid of Prunus spp.). - Organic
08.09.30.4006.01 Nectarine (fresh). (Prunus persica).

08.09.30.4007.01 Peacotum (hybrid of Prunus spp.).
08.09.30.4007.02 Peacotum (hybrid of Prunus spp.). - Organic
