CFIA Permits and Possible Mail Service Disruptions

Reports indicate that as of September 26, 2018, the Canada Post Corporation and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers will be in legal strike or lockout position. Please check with Canada Post for the latest developments, to help you avoid delays associated with disruptions to mail service.

The CFIA has contingency measures ready to support service delivery should a disruption occur. In this event, updated procedures will be shared at inspection.gc.ca/mypermission and by email notification.

To avoid all disruptions associated with mail service, the CFIA strongly encourages industry to apply, pay for, and track the status of their permission online using My CFIA.

Using My CFIA, you can also securely access your permit, license or registration from your computer. Most services are available through My CFIA, with others being added gradually.

Visit inspection.gc.ca/mycfia for a step-by-step guide on creating your account.
