CFIA processing delays

Please be advised that the National Import Service Centre (NISC) at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is currently experiencing delays in processing import declarations.

All CFIA systems are functioning as expected and as such clients are asked to continue sending all CFIA electronic declarations using the Integrated Import Declaration (IID).

The safety of Canadians is important to us and while we make every effort to maintain efficient processing of the commodities in transit, we are responsible for making risk-based decisions which may affect service levels.

Please refrain from calling to check on the status of your shipment(s) during this time, as it may create further delays. If necessary, you may contact the NISC at 1-800-835-4486.
