CFIA Processing Issues

The following message was sent from the CFIA:

Please be advised that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is experiencing processing issues specifically in relation to the following scenario:

A transaction that has received a final CBSA decision, is cancelled and then resubmitted (ie. due to a change from a Release on Minimum Documentation- RMD to a Pre-Arrival Review System -PARS etc).  For clients who are experiencing issues receiving CFIA decision(s) with their transaction(s), in relation to the situation described above, CFIA is recommending one of the two following interim solutions until such time as the issue is resolved.

1. Cancel and re-submit the declaration using a new transaction number

OR

2. Revert to paper

The CFIA is presently working to resolve this issue and expects a solution to be in place by end of day tomorrow.

If you require assistance or have any questions during this time please contact the National Import Service Centre (NISC) at 1-800-835-4486.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and would like to thank you for your cooperation.
