Important Changes
The European Union (EU) has updated its regulations and requirements for non-commercial movement of dogs, cats and ferrets entering the EU.
The EU has implemented a transitional period where EU countries will accept current health certificates if they are signed on or before September 30, 2026.
- Continue to use the certificates on this webpage until we publish updated versions here.
Regardless of the transitional period for certificates, the following must be complied with immediately:
- All non-commercial dogs, cats and ferrets must be directly accompanied by their owner and be under their responsibility during the movement to the EU.
- If the owner can’t accompany the animal, then an authorised person must accompany the animal with the movement still occurring within 5 days of the movement of the owner to the EU.
- The authorised person must have written authorization from the owner for the non-commercial movement of the pet animal.
If the shipment does not qualify as non-commercial movement, you must:
- use the commercial certificate
- meet all requirements for commercial movements

Changements importants
L’Union européenne (UE) a mis à jour sa réglementation et ses exigences relatives aux mouvements non commerciaux de chiens, chats et furets entrant sur son territoire.
L’UE a instauré une période transitoire durant laquelle les États membres accepteront les certificats sanitaires en vigueur s’ils ont été signés au plus tard le 30 septembre 2026.
- Veuillez continuer d’utiliser les certificats figurant sur cette page Web jusqu’à la publication des versions mises à jour.
Indépendamment de la période transitoire, les dispositions suivantes doivent être respectées immédiatement :
- Tous les chiens, chats et furets de compagnie (non commerciaux) doivent être accompagnés directement par leur propriétaire et rester sous sa responsabilité pendant toute la durée du transport vers l’UE.
- Si le propriétaire ne peut pas accompagner l’animal, une personne autorisée doit l’accompagner, le transport devant avoir lieu dans les 5 jours suivant ou précédant l’arrivée du propriétaire dans l’UE.
- La personne autorisée doit avoir en main une autorisation écrite du propriétaire pour le mouvement non commercial de l’animal de compagnie.
Si l’envoi ne remplit pas les conditions correspondant à un mouvement non commercial, vous devez:
- Utiliser le certificat pour mouvement commercial
- Satisfaire à toutes les exigences relatives aux mouvements commerciaux
