(Le français suit) The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is seeking feedback on directive D-25-02: Wood products export program. This directive describes the phytosanitary program for the export of wood products from Canada. Currently, the scope is limited to sawn wood. The directive describes the program and outlines the process that exporters must follow to register as well as the minimum phytosanitary requirements for export of sawn wood to some of Canada’s trading partners. Exporters may need to meet one or a combination of different phytosanitary measures outlined in this directive to satisfy the requirements of different importing countries. Other phytosanitary requirements can be met under other programs. Once finalized, directive D-25-02 will be posted on the CFIA’s website. La directive décrit le programme ainsi que la procédure que les exportateurs doivent suivre pour s’enregistrer, ainsi que les exigences phytosanitaires minimales applicables à l’exportation du bois scié vers certains partenaires commerciaux du Canada. Les exportateurs peuvent être tenus de respecter une ou plusieurs des différentes mesures phytosanitaires décrites dans la présente directive afin de satisfaire aux exigences des différents pays importateurs. D’autres exigences phytosanitaires peuvent être satisfaites dans le cadre d’autres programmes. L’intention est de publier la directive D-25-02 sur le site Web de l’ACIA quand elle sera finalisée.
