CSCB National Conference: Good News, Bad News, and Great News on the Confederation Bridge

We hope you are getting as excited as we are about the 2025 CSCB National Conference in Charlottetown from September 21-23, 2025. To assist with your planning, we want to share some important news about the Confederation Bridge that links Prince Edward Island (PEI) to Canada’s mainland.

GOOD News: Yesterday, Prime Minister Carney announced a more than 50% reduction in the toll to cross the Confederation Bridge (Prime Minister Carney cuts tolls on the Confederation Bridge and fares for interprovincial ferries in Atlantic Canada and Québec | CSCB National Office). For those new to the Island, please be aware that the toll is collected only when you leave Prince Edward Island, not when you arrive.

BAD News: The Confederation Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025. If you are driving, please plan your travel to take the closure into consideration.

GREAT News:  The September 21st closure will allow the Confederation Bridge to host the Terry Fox Run in support of the 45th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope, and we will be there! Come join the CSCB’s Tariff Trotters in this unique and unforgettable opportunity to raise funds in support of cancer research. Yor are welcome to join the CSCB team by registering here: Join a Run today! - Terry Fox Foundation. If lacing up early on a Sunday morning isn’t your thing, please feel free to support the Tariff Trotters in whatever way you wish.
