CSCB Webinar: CBSA Trade Compliance Priorities

On March 5, 2026, please join us for an engaging session with Alex Lawton, CBSA Executive Director for Trade Compliance to review the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) 2026 trade verification and compliance verification priorities. Learn more about the CBSA’s current compliance focus on surtaxes, as well as compliance with import provisions in the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement (CUKTCA), among others.

Mr. Lawton will also provide a demonstration of the CBSA’s enhanced capacity to receive tips about trade non-compliance through the Border Watch Line online reporting system. With its refreshed online report submission tool, individuals and businesses wishing to provide information to the CBSA related to revenue non-compliance can select from the menu of suspected violations, including non-compliance relating to steel, steel derivatives, aluminum, or other commodities, and provide supporting details to allow the CBSA to conduct verifications as needed.
