CSMS # 64393496 - REMINDER & WEBINAR: Public Comment Period of USMCA Interim Final Rule (IFR)

 

US Customs and Border Protection has reminded stakeholders that the Agreement Between the United States of America, the United Mexican States, and Canada (USMCA)  Interim Final Rule (IFR) will become effective on March 18, 2025.

This IFR adds to the existing 19 CFR 182 implementing regulations and other related 19 CFR regulations and addresses: (i) automotive goods, (ii) textile and apparel goods, (iii) drawback and duty-deferral program requirements, (iv) recordkeeping and protest requirements, (v) temporary admission of goods requirements, (vi) applicable fee provisions, and (vii) other conforming amendments to fulfill the USMCA related commitments.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Office of Trade is hosting a webinar on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. ET titled Overview of USMCA Interim Final Rule - Textiles and Apparel, Automotive Goods, Drawback and Duty-Deferral Requirements, and other Provisions. The webinar will provide a readout of this USMCA Interim Final Rule. The trade community is invited to join this informational overview in advance of the IFR public comment deadline and effective date.
