DHL to suspend global shipments of over $800 to US consumers

Due to new U.S. customs rules implemented on April 5, 2025, changing the requirements for a formal entry from $2500 USD to $800 USD, DHL Express, a division of Germany's Deutsche Post, posted on it's site that as of Monday April 21, 2025, DHL will "temporarily suspend the collection and shipping of business-to-consumer (B2C) shipments to private individuals in the United States where the declared customs value exceeds USD 800."

DHL advised no changes to shipments with a declared value under $800 when shipped to either businesses or consumers.

Business-to-business shipments with a declared value over $800 will continue to be accepted but could face delays.
