Every year the CSCB Scholarship Committee receives many outstanding applications from candidates across the country and this year was no exception.

Lucas will be entering the University of Toronto this fall to study Architecture. Lucas is the president of the Asian Student Alliance at his school and was a member of the Meditation club, Yearbook team, Swim team, Volleyball team, Super Council, Mahjong club, and Sewing/Fashion club. He is a competitive sailor and has participated in the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets for the past 6 years.
“It is a great honour being a Guy Graveline scholarship recipient, I am truly grateful, with your support I can continue to make meaningful contributions to my field and community.”
The CSCB National Scholarship is awarded to Brennan Kloostra; son of Shawn Kloostra who is employed by Livingston International. Brennan is also an impressive honour roll student with a 4.0 GPA and wishes to pursue an education in Trade Fundamentals at Durham College. In addition to his outstanding academic achievements, Brennan’s volunteer work with neuro-divergent children demonstrated his leadership capabilities. The committee particularly enjoyed his application letter which spoke of our industry and highlighted his profound respect for the vital role customs brokers play in ensuring the seamless flow of goods across borders.
“Thank you for selecting me as a recipient of the CSCB National scholarship. This generous contribution will greatly support my educational needs and help me to pursue my studies with confidence. Thank you to the CSCB for recognizing my efforts and for your continued commitment to supporting students like myself.”
The Undergrad Scholarship is to be awarded to Hannah Murphy, daughter of Mike Murphy who is employed by PF Collins. Hannah’s journey, detailed in her application, showed maturity, self-awareness and pure grit. Her first semester at Memorial University demonstrated that her selected major wasn’t her passion. In her second semester she switched majors and found her passion (Psychology), improving her GPA to an impressive 3.89. Hannah’s determination and perseverance was very impressive – the road to success is not always straight!
“I am deeply honored to receive the Undergrad Scholarship. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the organization for providing me this amazing opportunity in my educational journey. I would also like to thank my parents for always being my biggest supporters in all my endeavours and helping me reach my fullest potential.”
The West Scholarship is to be awarded to Le Anh Khuong (Ken) Huynh of Calgary AB, who is employed with Cole International. Ken is pursuing a BA in business at the University of Lethbridge and has a 3.97 GPA. He has discovered his passion in trade – all aspects, but especially customs brokerage. He intends to complement his education with the CCS 2024-2025 program, and ultimately hopes to one day open his own customs brokerage firm. His love of trade shines through his application and his pursuit of higher education to compliment hands on learning is evident.
