Each year the CSCB Scholarship Committee receives many outstanding applications from candidates across the country and this year was no exception.
The Guy Graveline Scholarship is awarded to Rafay Salman; son of Salman Saleh who is employed by Willson International.
Rafay achieved a 99% average while demonstrating strong leadership through numerous extracurricular activities and will begin studying electrical engineering at the University of Toronto this fall.
“I am incredibly grateful to be selected as a recipient of the CSCB Guy Graveline Scholarship. Thank you to the CSCB for supporting students like me as we begin the next chapter of our education. This recognition means a great deal to me, and I am excited to carry this support forward as I pursue my studies in electrical engineering at the University of Toronto.”
The CSCB National Scholarship is awarded to Zain Fecto; son of Sam Fecto who is employed by Willson International. Zain is the recipient of the Governor General’s Bronze Academic Medal and has demonstrated a strong commitment to STEM, community involvement and leadership, and will begin studying engineering at McMaster University this fall.
“I am very grateful to be selected as the recipient of the CSCB National Scholarship. I would like to thank the scholarship committee for recognizing my hard work and supporting me as I begin my post-secondary studies. This scholarship will help me as I continue my education and work towards my future goals. I truly appreciate this opportunity and am thankful for the support and encouragement that comes with it.”
The Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to Tyler Eley, son of Jessica Eley who is employed by Pacific Customs Brokers Ltd. Tyler is entering his final year at the University of Victoria where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Economics specializing in Finance and a minor in Applied Ethics.
“I would like to thank the selection committee for considering my application and selecting me as a candidate. It means a tremendous amount to me that CSCB is supporting my education at UVic this year. The financial support will without a doubt ease a lot of the financial stress that comes with being a student. So once again, thank you!”
This year, the CSCB received an exceptional number of strong scholarship applications, and we are pleased to announce that, in recognition of the outstanding quality of this year’s applicants, we are able to award an additional Special Recognition Scholarship to Agustina Pizarro Hidalgo, daughter of Cinthia Hidalgo who is employed by Pacific Customs Brokers Ltd. Agustina achieved a 95.25% GPA throughout high school and will begin the Engineering Foundations Certificate at Douglas College this fall, with plans to pursue biomedical engineering at the University of British Columbia.
“I am so grateful and honoured to have been chosen to receive this scholarship. It will help me greatly throughout this year and motivates me to keep working hard on my dreams. Thank you CSCB for supporting my education and future.”
