Export of fish and seafood for human consumption to Moldova

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has been informed by the Moldova authorities that as of June 22, 2024, there will be new certificate requirements for the export of fish and seafood for human consumption to Moldova.

The current certificate, “Health Certificate for fish, frogs, crustacea, molluscs, gastropods and their products destined for import in Moldova” (CFIA/ACIA 5401) will no longer be accepted for shipments that depart Canada on or after June 22, 2024.

The CFIA is reviewing the new certificate and is in discussion with Moldova regarding the new requirements. Industry will be informed once the new certificate has been negotiated and finalized.


Exportation de poissons et fruits de mer destinés à la consommation humaine vers la Moldavie

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) a été informée par les autorités de la Moldavie qu’à compter du 22 juin 2024, de nouvelles exigences en matière de certificat seront imposées pour l’exportation de poisson et de fruits de mer destinés à la consommation humaine vers la Moldavie.

Le « Certificat sanitaire pour l’importation en Moldova de poissons, grenouilles, crustacés, mollusques, gastéropodes et de leurs produits » (CFIA/ACIA 5401) ne sera plus accepté pour les expéditions qui quittent le Canada à compter du 22 juin 2024.

L’ACIA examine actuellement le nouveau certificat et est en discussion avec la Moldavie concernant les nouvelles exigences. L’industrie sera informée une fois que le nouveau certificat aura été négocié et finalisé.
