Food animal information document for poultry – Section 4.1 Update

Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has updated section 4.1 of Food animal information document for poultry on May 27, 2025.

For vaccines not licensed in Canada but administered to live birds or in-ovo fertilized eggs before importing them into Canada, the withdrawal times on the vaccine labels approved in the exporting country are acceptable. Supporting documentation, such as the vaccine label attesting the approved withdrawal period, must be included with the flock sheet to confirm proper administration of the vaccine.

Document d’information concernant la volaille – Section 4.1 Mise à jour

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) a mis à jour la section 4.1 du Document d'information concernant la volaille le 27 mai 2025.

Pour les vaccins non homologués au Canada mais administrés à des oiseaux vivants ou à des œufs fécondés in ovo avant leur importation au Canada, les délais d’attente indiqués sur les étiquettes des vaccins approuvées dans le pays exportateur sont acceptables. Les documents justificatifs, comme l’étiquette du vaccin attestant le délai d’attente approuvé doivent être inclus avec la fiche d’élevage pour confirmer l’administration appropriée du vaccin.
