Import of Whiteleg Shrimp and Barramundi from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Following successful negotiations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is pleased to announce that a new zoosanitary export certificate has been finalized:

  • Zoosanitary Certificate for the export of ‘Dead Whiteleg Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) for the end uses of Food Service and Retail Use from National Aquaculture Group (NAQUA), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Canada’

This new zoosanitary export certificate is implemented immediately.

The Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) has been updated with the import requirements and documentation instructions.

As set out in the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, importers of above-mentioned commodity will need to hold a Safe Food for Canadians licence to import and are responsible for meeting all applicable Canadian requirements.

Importation de crevettes à pattes blanches et de barramundi du Royaume d’Arabie saoudite

À la suite de négociations fructueuses avec le Royaume d’Arabie saoudite, l’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) a parachevé un nouveau certificat d’exportation zoosanitaire :

  • Certificat zoosanitaire pour l’exportation de « crevettes à pattes blanches (Litopenaeus vannamei) et de barramundi (Lates calcarifer) morts pour les utilisations finales de la restauration et de l’usage au détail, du National Aquaculture Group (NAQUA), Royaume d’Arabie saoudite, au Canada »

Ce nouveau certificat d’exportation zoosanitaire est mis en œuvre immédiatement.

Le Système automatisé de référence à l'importation (SARI) a été mis à jour en y ajoutant les exigences d’importation et les instructions relatives à la documentation.

Comme prévu dans le Règlement sur la salubrité des aliments au Canada, les importateurs des produits mentionnés ci-dessus devront détenir une licence pour la salubrité des aliments au Canada afin d’importer les produits et seront responsables de répondre à toutes les exigences canadiennes applicables.
