Please be advised that Canada has now recognized zoning for African Swine Fever (ASF) in Finland. Imports of raw, fresh or frozen edible pork and inedible by-products may now resume from zones free of the disease. Uncooked pork or raw inedible porcine by-products from swine slaughtered anywhere in Finland on or before June 23, 2026 may be imported without an import permit. The slaughter date must appear in a document signed by an official veterinarian.
Uncooked pork and raw inedible porcine by-products from swine slaughtered anywhere in Finland between June 24, 2026 and August 11, 2026 is not eligible for import into Canada.
Uncooked pork and raw inedible porcine by-products from swine slaughtered in Finland in a zone free of ASF on or after August 12, 2026 may be imported with a Permit to Import Animal Products and By-products. The import permit will provide the documentation requirements to be certified by an official veterinarian of the exporting country including the Official Meat Inspection Certificate and/or zoosanitary certificate.
The importation of live animals, semen or embryos originating from susceptible species (Suidae – pigs and wild boar) is prohibited.

La viande de porc non cuite et les sous-produits porcins crus non comestibles provenant de porcs abattus n’importe où en Finlande entre le 24 juin 2026 et le 11 août 2026 ne peuvent pas être importés au Canada.
La viande de porc non cuite ou les sous-produits porcins crus non comestibles provenant de porcs abattus en Finlande dans une zone indemne de PPA à compter du 12 août est autorisée avec un permis d’importation de produits et de sous-produits d’animaux. Ce permis d’importation précisera les documents requis, qui devront être certifiés par un vétérinaire officiel du pays exportateur, notamment le certificat officiel d’inspection des viandes et/ou le certificat zoosanitaire.
L’importation d’animaux vivants, de sperme ou d’embryons provenant d’espèces sensibles (suidés – porcs et sangliers) est interdite.
