Individual pleads guilty to facilitating illegal entries

On November 6, 2025, a 37-year-old foreign national, pleaded guilty in Montreal to conspiring to illegally smuggle seven migrants into the United States, receiving a sentence of two years less a day. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) investigation revealed he orchestrated the border crossing for financial gain in January 2024.

Due to his criminality, he is deemed inadmissible to Canada, and the CBSA will proceed with his removal after his sentence. The case involved coordinated efforts from multiple CBSA units to identify, apprehend, and prepare for his deportation.
