Integrated Cargo Security Strategy

Sent by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Border Commercial Consultative Committee (BCCC) Secretariat

As you know, the Programs Branch, Pre-Border Programs Directorate, in collaboration with our Transport Canada partners, has been leading the Integrated Cargo Security Strategy (ICSS).

To highlight the work that has been accomplished to date, I am pleased to announce that the ICSS content http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/trade-commerce/icss-sisf/icss-sisf-menu-eng.html  has been posted to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) website on Monday, March 11, 2013.  You will note that, a “What’s New” section has been included, where we will showcase some of the most recent successes, media announcements and/or updates.  We will endeavour to update this section regularly.

The objective is to provide further information for stakeholders, generate feedback on the direction of the ICSS, and to ensure that all interested parties - government departments, agencies, industry interest groups, pilot participants and international partners are kept informed of the project as a whole.

We hope that this milestone will invoke a sense of pride for all those involved with ICSS and provide some perspective on the activities that the CBSA employees are completing.  Without the collaboration and dedicated work of our partners at Transport Canada, CBSA headquarters and regional staff, the ICSS milestones achieved to date would not be possible.
