Mandatory use of IID – Update

At a recent Single Window Implementation working group webinar, CBSA provided an update on the mandatory use of the IID.

As planned, CBSA will  decommission OGD release options 463 (EDI PARS) and 471 (EDI RMD) on April 1, 2019. After that, mandatory use of the IID will be gradually implemented basis. The PGAs for which the IID is used the most are CFIA, NRCan and TC.  As a result, after April 1, 2019, the only available release service option for goods regulated by CFIA, NRCan and TC will be the IID. Goods regulated by the remaining PGAs may be released using the IID or service option 125 (paper PARS) or service option 257 (paper RMD).

A presentation from that webinar is available.
