Minister Sidhu advances trade priorities at G20 Trade and Investment Ministers Meeting

The Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Canada’s Minister of International Trade, concluded his participation at the G20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting in Gqeberha, South Africa, where he emphasized Canada’s commitment to diversifying trade and fostering economic growth through a stable and equitable global trading system. 

While in South Africa, Minister Sidhu also represented Canada at the Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity, reaffirming the country’s dedication to working with global partners to tackle challenges in the steel industry and promote job creation. Additionally, he held bilateral meetings with key counterparts, including Maroš Šefčovič of the European Commission and Gan Kim Yong of Singapore, to advance shared priorities in trade and investment.
