New certificate for the export of fish and seafood to Vietnam

Following successful negotiations with Vietnam, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is pleased to announce that a new health certificate has been finalized for the export of eviscerated finfish fillets and steaks prepared and packaged for retail trade for human consumption to Vietnam:

  • Aquatic Animal Health and Sanitary Certificate covering chilled / frozen fish fillets and steaks (AQAH-1112)

The certificate (AQAH-1112) only applies to the export of eviscerated finfish fillets and steaks prepared and packaged for retail trade for human consumption to Vietnam in certain susceptible species of finfish harvested in waters that are officially declared by the CFIA as infected with World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) listed diseases. Examples include:

  • farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar)
  • wild and farmed Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.)
  • wild herring (Clupea spp.)

The new health certificate can be implemented immediately.

Any non-live wild and cultured finfish of non-susceptible species, or non-live wild and cultured finfish of susceptible species harvested in waters that are declared free from World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) listed diseases of finfish will continue to be certified on the CFIA/ACIA 5633 certificate.

Nouveau certificat pour l’exportation de poissons et fruits de mer vers le Vietnam

 

À la suite de négociations fructueuses avec le Vietnam, l’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) est heureuse d’annoncer qu’un nouveau certificat sanitaire a été finalisé pour l’exportation vers le Vietnam de filets et de darnes de poissons à nageoires éviscérés, préparés et emballés pour la vente au détail à des fins de consommation humaine :

  • Certificat d’hygiène et de santé des animaux aquatiques couvrant des filets et darnes de poissons réfrigérés ou congelée (AQAH-1112)

Le certificat (AQAH-1112) s’applique seulement à l’exportation vers le Vietnam de filets et de darnes de poissons à nageoires éviscérés, préparés et emballés pour la vente au détail destinés à la consommation humaine, pour certaines espèces de poissons à nageoires sensibles, pêchées dans des eaux officiellement déclarées par l’ACIA comme infectées par des maladies répertoriées par l’Organisation mondiale de la santé animale (OMSA). Parmi les exemples :

  • saumon atlantique d’élevage (Salmo salar)
  • saumon du Pacifique sauvage et d’élevage (Oncorhynchus spp.)
  • hareng sauvage (Clupea spp.)

Le nouveau certificat sanitaire peut être mis en œuvre immédiatement.

Tout poisson à nageoires sauvage ou d’élevage non vivant appartenant à une espèce non sensible, ou tout poisson à nageoires sauvage ou d’élevage non vivant appartenant à une espèce sensible pêché dans des eaux déclarées exemptes des maladies des poissons à nageoires répertoriées par l’Organisation mondiale de la santé animale (OIE) continuera d’être certifié sur le certificat CFIA/ACIA 5633.
