New requirements for raw inedible animal by-products from the United Kingdom

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recently negotiated a new certificate for import of raw inedible animal by-products from the United Kingdom. This certificate can be used to import raw inedible by-products for purposes such as pet food manufacturing as well as raw glands for pharmaceutical use. The new conditions have been published in the Automated Import Reference System.

Importers must have a permit to import animal products and by-products before importing these commodities. Visit My CFIA for further information on applying for a permit.

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments a récemment négocié un nouveau certificat pour l’importation de sous-produits animaux crus non comestibles en provenance du Royaume-Uni. Ce certificat peut être utilisé pour importer des sous-produits crus non comestibles destinés, par exemple, à la fabrication d’aliments pour animaux de compagnie, ainsi que des glandes crues à usage pharmaceutique.
