Please be advised that a new outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) has been identified in Finland. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is implementing import restrictions to safeguard the health of Canada’s livestock and prevent the economic impact of a potential ASF outbreak in Canada.
Raw or unprocessed products and by-products from swine collected or slaughtered before June 24, 2026 are eligible to enter Canada, but the date of slaughter or collection must appear in the official documentation. If there is no date of slaughter or collection on the certificate, then the signature date of the certificate will be used.
The importation of live animals, semen or embryos originating from susceptible species (Suidae – pigs and wild boar) in countries currently under restriction is prohibited.
An additional message will be sent if some regions of the country are recognized by Canada as free of the disease and imports from these free zones may resume.

Nouvelles restrictions dues à la peste porcine africaine en Finlande
Veuillez noter qu’une nouvelle éclosion de peste porcine africaine (PPA) a été signalée en Finlande. L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) met en œuvre des restrictions d’importation afin de préserver la santé du cheptel canadien et prévenir les répercussions économiques d’une éventuelle éclosion de PPA au Canada.
Les produits et sous-produits crus ou non transformés provenant de porcs collectés ou abattus avant le 24 juin 2026 sont admissibles à entrer au Canada, mais la date d’abattage ou de collecte doit figurer dans la documentation officielle. S’il n’y a pas de date d’abattage ou de collecte sur le certificat, alors la date de signature du certificat sera utilisée.
L’importation d’animaux vivants, de semence ou d’embryons d’espèces sensibles (Suidae – porcs et sangliers) en provenance de pays actuellement soumis à des restrictions est interdite.
Un message supplémentaire sera envoyé si certaines régions du pays sont reconnues par le Canada comme indemnes de la maladie et les importations en provenance de ces zones indemnes pourront reprendre.
