Notice to importers: New requirements for the Import of pistachios and pistachio products

Imported pistachios and pistachio-containing products originating from the Islamic Republic of Iran are currently implicated in several illnesses and recalls in Canada due to contamination with Salmonella.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is implementing temporary import requirements as a precautionary step to safeguard Canadians against the risk of Salmonella infection.

Les pistaches et les produits contenant des pistaches importés en provenance de la République islamique d’Iran sont actuellement impliqués dans plusieurs cas de maladie et rappels au Canada en raison d’une contamination par Salmonella.

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) met en œuvre des exigences temporaires en matière d’importation par mesure de précaution afin de protéger les Canadiens contre le risque d’infection par Salmonella.
