On April 20, 2026, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), pursuant to subsection 76.03(1) of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), initiated an expiry review of its finding made on June 4, 2021, in inquiry NQ-2020-004, concerning the dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Indonesia, the Italian Republic, the Federation of Malaysia, the Republic of Singapore, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
As a result of the CITT’s expiry review, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has today initiated an expiry review investigation to determine, pursuant to paragraph 76.03(7)(a) of SIMA, whether the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods. The CBSA will make a determination no later than September 17, 2026, and will issue a Statement of Reasons by October 2, 2026.
The product definition and the applicable tariff classification numbers of the goods subject to the CITT’s finding are accessible on the CBSA’s Measures in force.
