The enclosed information is important in understanding the 180 day transition period for Release Prior to Payment (RPP) Financial Security.  A key component is that the importer must be registered BEFORE Release 2 or a specified cutoff date in order to benefit from the transition period and not have to post security right away.  An importer who registers AFTER Release 2 implementation or the specified cutoff date will need to post security in order to benefit from the Release Prior to Payment financial security.

The CSCB will be covering this and more in our upcoming in person CARM information sessions with the CBSA.  More information will follow on the dates and locations of these meetings.
