Order Respecting Time Limits under the Special Import Measures Act (COVID-19)

Further to previously posted messages regarding time limits under the SIMA, the Department of Finance has now advised the following:

I am writing to inform you that pursuant to subsections 7(1) and 7(5) of the Time Limits and Other Periods Act (COVID-19), the Minister of Finance made on September 30, 2020 the Order Respecting Time Limits Under the Special Import Measures Act (COVID-19) to extend certain legislated time limits for certain Special Import Measures Act proceedings. The Order is deemed to have come into force on March 13, 2020 and is effective until December 31, 2020.
