Port of Vancouver Lockout Began Today

November 4, 2024

In response to the 72-hour strike notice issued by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 514, the The B.C. Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) has locked out members of that Union, as of this morning. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/vancouver-port-shuts-out-foremen-strike-begins-2024-11-04/

This is in addition to the indefinite strike at the Port of Montreal's Viau and Maisonneuve terminals which began last Thursday.
