Prime Minister announces the appointment of Canada’s new Fentanyl Czar

Prime Minister Trudeau has announced the appointment of Canada’s new Fentanyl Czar - Kevin Brosseau, effective immediately.

Mr. Brosseau's most recent role was Deputy National Security and Intelligence Advisor to the Prime Minister. Prior to that he was with the RCMP for 20 years in roles such as Deputy Commissioner and the commanding officer in Manitoba.

In order to stop the importation of illegal fentanyl new steps will be taken, such as:

  • Using new chemical detection tools at high-risk POE
  • New K-9 teams for drug detection
