Reduction of withdrawal period for certain chicken vaccines

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), through the Canadian Centre for Veterinary Biologics (CCVB), has revised the withdrawal period for certain licensed poultry vaccines against infectious bronchitis and infectious bursal disease from 21 days to 7 days, effective February 2, 2026. This change is expected to improve poultry health and welfare without impacting food safety.

Réduction de la période de retrait pour certains vaccins destinés au poulets

 

Le Centre canadien des produits biologiques vétérinaires (CCPBV) de l’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) a modifié la période de retrait de 21 à 7 jours, à compter du 2 février 2026, pour certains vaccins homologués contre la bronchite infectieuse et la bursite infectieuse chez la volaille. Ce changement devrait améliorer la santé et le bien-être des volailles sans nuire à la salubrité des aliments.
