Registration Types; Fruits & Vegetables Requirements

Effective December 1, 2010, CFIA will require imports of fresh fruits and vegetables to indicate either the Federal Produce Licence Number or the DRC Membership Number. The registration codes for these, and for the signatory of the California Leafy Green Products Handler Marketing Agreement A (Alpha-numeric) and the Name of SENASICA certified grower/packer A (Alpha-numeric), have now been provided.

CFIA have also confirmed that most fresh fruits and vegetables are found in chapters 7 and 8, but there are others that must provide the licence or DRC number. A licence or DRC number is required whenever a Confirmation of Sale form was required.

These changes will not go into effect until December 1, 2010.

****** Please note that these changes will not be published until December 1, 2010. ******
