REMINDER - Updates to the Customs Internet Gateway Web Service Standards

Please be advised that the CBSA requires all clients using the Customs Internet Gateway (CIG) web service to meet the following technical specifications before March 3, 2026 (in 4.5 weeks):

•    HTTP requests must meet HTTP 1.1 standards.
•    Transport Layer Security (TLS) must meet TLS 1.3 standards.
•    Uniform Resource Locator (URL) and Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) Changes

It is critical that these updates be completed prior to March 3, 2026.  The existing CIG communication channel to the CBSA is being updated and non-compliance with the new protocols will impact the transmission of commercial documents.

If action is not taken, some members may see their ability to transmit commercial information impacted after March 3rd, 2026.
