REMINDER: Uploading Organic Product Certificates in IID

The CFIA has updated the content of Canada Organic Regime import requirements for added clarity on the requirements for organic product certificates submitted with import declarations.

The requirement to upload a copy of the organic product certificate in the Integrated Import Declaration (IID) has been in effect for 3 months.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is asking importers and brokers who submit import declarations to make sure that:

  • All pages of the organic product certificate are uploaded in IID and include:
  • The front page of the original certificate,
    • The product addendum/appendix that lists the exact certified organic product(s) declared.
    • The page with the attestation “Certified in accordance with the terms of the US-Canada Organic Equivalency Arrangement” (applies only to organic products imported under the USCOEA),
  • The certificate is valid at the time of import.

RAPPEL : Téléchargement des certificats de produits biologiques dans la DII

 

L’ACIA a mis à jour le contenu de la page web Exigences d'importation du Régime Bio-Canada pour clarifier les exigences concernant les certificats de produits biologiques soumis avec les déclarations d’importation.

L’exigence de télécharger une copie du certificat de produit biologique dans la Déclaration d’importation intégrée (DII) est en vigueur depuis 3 mois.

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) demande aux importateurs et courtiers qui soumettent des déclarations d’importation de s’assurer que :

  • Toutes les pages du certificat de produit biologique sont téléchargées dans IID et comprennent :
  • La page de couverture du certificat original,
    • L’addenda/annexe des produits qui répertorie le(s) produit(s) certifié(s) biologique(s) exact(s) déclaré(s).
    • La page contenant l’attestation « Certifié conformément aux termes de l’Accord sur l’équivalence des produits biologiques entre le Canada et les États-Unis » (ne s’applique qu’aux produits importés dans le cadre de l’accord ci-nommé)
  • Le certificat est valide au moment de l’importation.
