Shell eggs – Negotiated certificate for import from Latvia

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has negotiated a Certificate for the Export of Shell Eggs from Latvia.

Effective May 5th, 2025, the negotiated certificate will become valid and trade can commence as soon as the Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) has been updated. A separate notice will be sent once AIRS is updated.

As set out in the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, importers of shell egg from Latvia will need to hold a Safe Food for Canadians licence to import and are responsible for meeting all applicable Canadian requirements.


Oeufs en coquille – certificat négocié pour l’importation en provenance de la Lettonie

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments a négocié un certificat pour l’importation d’œufs en coquille provenant de la Lettonie.

Le certificat négocié entrera en vigueur à partir du 5 mai 2025. Le commerce pourra débuter dès que le Système automatisé de référence à l'importation (SARI) aura été mis à jour. Un avis séparé sera envoyé lorsque le SARI sera à jour.

Les importateurs d’œufs en coquille provenant de la Lettonie doivent être titulaires d’une de licence en salubrité des aliments au Canada, comme stipulé dans le Règlement sur la salubrité des aliments au Canada. Ils sont de plus responsables de se conformer à toutes les exigences canadiennes applicables.
