Travel Advisory – Lane closures at St. Stephen Ferry Point port of entry

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Atlantic Region will be making essential upgrades to its primary inspections lanes at the St. Stephen Ferry Point border crossing between July 18, 2022 to February 2023.

Through this project, the existing three primary inspection lane booths will be replaced with two new, modern booths and an improved parking area for better flow of vehicle traffic for secondary examination referrals. Upgrades will include energy-efficient heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting to help reduce the Agency’s carbon footprint, ergonomically correct workspaces designed with the health and safety of border services officers in mind, and improvements to the asphalt and canopies to ensure a safe and positive experience for travellers, including vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.

During the construction period, only one primary inspection lane will be open. The parking area located in secondary processing will also be reduced by half. These changes are expected to result in longer border wait times.

Travellers are encouraged to plan ahead and enter Canada via the St. Stephen 3rd Bridge border crossing (open 24/7), especially during peak travel periods.

The CBSA thanks all travellers for their patience and collaboration during this time. The public will be notified when upgrades are complete and all lanes reopen.
