Trump’s tariffs on Canada, world to stay in place during case, court rules

Last month, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that US President Trump's use of the International Economic Emergency Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose wide-sweeping tariffs on imported goods was unconstitutional. The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will hear the case next and arguments are expected by July 31, 2025.

In the meantime, it has been ruled that the IEEPA tariffs will continue to be collected, for now.
