Union representing Border Services Officers declares bargaining impasse

The bargaining team from the Customs and Immigration Union (CIU)—part of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC)—has declared an impasse at the bargaining table during talks September 26 and 27, 2023, stating that the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) had refused to budge on its key issues and continued to insist on concessions. The CIU states it has contacted the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board in an effort to move the process forward.
