UPDATE: Customs Notice 24-40: Regulations Amending the Prescribed List of Prohibited Firearms

 

Updated: March 7, 2025

1. This notice is to advise interested parties that on March 7, 2025, the Government of Canada updated the amendment to the Classification Regulations for firearms. As a result, additional firearms and their variants that were previously classified as non-restricted or restricted have now been re-classified as prohibited firearms. A list of can be found at: Government of Canada prohibits additional assault-style firearms. This is in addition to the May 2020 and December 2024 regulatory amendments that reclassified certain firearms as prohibited.
