In support of our members, the CSCB contacted the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) Commercial Operations Division in the GTA (Toronto) Region about challenges in contacting the GTA Management of Information (MOI) unit by telephone. As the result of CSCB’s advocacy, the CBSA was able to determine that phone line disruptions emerged when the Agency switched to its Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phone system.
The CBSA has been working to resolve this problem since March 13th, however it is not yet fixed. As a result, the MOI Unit has added a new telephone telephone line to allow customs brokers and other trade chain partners to contact their office: (905) 612-4444.
The previous phone number will remain in service for a short period of time to ensure continuity of service and to maintain the CBSA’s service standards during the transition. Members should update their contact lists to reflect the new phone number to ensure problem-free transition once the existing phone number (905-676-5097) is terminated.
